Inmarsat D+ rental
We are proud to announce a new short term rental service of Inmarsat D+ Tracking devices.
Used by Sporttraxx for the first time in World Championship Rally Tout Terrain 2003 (Rallye des Pharaons and UAE Desert Challenge), this satellite tracking unit is capable to send at the agreed time intervals its position, from almost everywhere in the world. And through a free or a password protected webpage, that position is shown on Google Earth Mapping service.
Satellite Tracking with DMR 200 C
How does it work?
The ruggedized and waterproof white box (Skywave DMR200C), the size of a small dish, contains a GPS receiver and a two way Inmarsat transciever. The box is fixed to the vehicle ( car, bike, truck or boat) in a way it has free view to the sky and then connected to a 12/24 volts power supply. That's it!!
When ordering the unit to rent, you will decide the transmission interval. In that way the unit will transmitt every X minutes its current position, height and speed. Those data are sent to our Server and can be shown on every internet connected computer. The coverage is worldwide with exclusion of the poles. Minimum update rate is 5 minutes.
Who can use it?
Everybody has availabe a 12 to 24 V CC power supply . Everybody is moving in a GPS valid area ( open space, not at the poles) at a speed not higher than 1000 Km/h.
Typically this device is used on: cars, bikes, quads, trucks, boats, aircrafts, ballons, etc.
Main applications for a satellite based temporary tracking are:
- Safety. You always know where it is
- High media value. You want to let people and sponsors know where you are
- High reliability, not being dependent on terrestrial coverages
- Easy definable costs
You can use this technology for your holiday trips, on sea, in the deserts, for your work and in sports. When using it during competitions, please check the regulations. In some events, when already provided compulsory by the organizers, you might not be allowed to carry additional active tracking devices.
How do I see the position?
The only technical request is an internet connected computer. Google Earth software ( free downloadable) must be installed.
Using the link supplied by Sporttraxx you simply log in the internet page and automatically you are flown on Google Earth Satellite Maps to the location where the Inmarsat Unit is actually in. A coloured line shows all the postions sent before, to easily see the driven route. The link can be free accessible, or protected by a passord. Obviously it is possiìble to track several units in the same time, on the same screen.
How much does it cost?
That new short term rental allows everybody to use a technology that is usually possible only with the purchase and long term subscription fees for the hosting service. This rental service is based on weeks and has a cost of 109,00 euros each week. Messages are charged 0,20 euro each. Shipping cost are charged separately. A deposit will be requsted upon first rental.
